Summary of work
CalTools is a free, browser-based utility for generating ICS calendar files and one-click “Add to Calendar” links. Fill in your event details once and instantly get a downloadable .ics file plus direct links for Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365, and Yahoo Calendar.
Everything runs entirely in the browser — no data is ever sent to a server, no account is required, and the tool works offline once the page has loaded. It handles timezone correctly, embedding the IANA timezone directly in the ICS file so recipients’ calendar apps automatically convert the event to their local time.
CalTools is aimed at anyone who needs to share event invites professionally without locking recipients into a specific app — from newsletter senders and event organisers to freelancers sending client invites. A Pro plan for bulk CSV-to-ICS generation is in development for power users who need to create many events at once.
Tech: Static HTML/CSS/JS, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. No backend, no dependencies.
