Demystifying seo once & for all

For small businesses, freelancers, charities & bloggers

SEO is not a magic trick. It’s about adding value to your industry and putting your customer at the centre of what you do.

Best SEO practices can bring traffic to your website for years. Believe me. I know

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO for short) is a term that’s often thrown around as if there’s some magic trick or special formula.

This is simply not true.

SEO is about answering questions, providing something of value that’s relevant to your industry and understanding your audience.

Yet, when you start looking for information on SEO, you’ll find lots of jargon about keywords and backlinks.

Whilst these do remain important elements of your overall search engine strategy, there’s very little advice on search intent, building overall authority and technical best practices.

I focus on search engines because they give long-term results when compared to other forms of digital marketing, such as paid advertising or social media.

Most digital marketing feels like running on a treadmill, struggling to keep moving forward. SEO is different. It is a long-term strategy for online success.

I can demystify  SEO, once and for all!

So, if you have a blog, business or website and you want to improve its search engine performance, I can help!

I provide SEO consultation services including…

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve built a network of websites that earn decent income by targeting under-served keywords.

These websites earn advertising revenue and affiliate sales commission, which enabled me to start my own business.

SEO was and still is the only strategy I use for promoting these websites and my strategy has proven to be successful.

So, it’s natural that I get asked a lot of questions about SEO from hobbyists and other professionals on a daily basis.

Here’s a selection of the most common queries I hear!

Where are you based?

I mostly work from my home office in South Wales, or from co-working spaces across Caerphilly, Cardiff and Pontypridd. However, due to the nature of my work – I can work from anywhere!

Can you do link building?

Backlinks are only one piece of a much bigger puzzle. Yes, my SEO strategy includes backlinks, but it forms a small part of a larger overall strategy.

My SEO Action Plans cover your website’s content, page speed and many, many other things.

There are over 200 different ranking factors used by Google. Backlinks are just 1 of those factors.

It’s very important to consider who the backlink is from and in what context they’ll be linking to you. Only certain backlinks have positive implications for your search engine ranking, these are the ones which have the most relevance and are the most natural.

Many SEO practitioners still use bad practice to build links, known as black-hat SEO.

I do not use any of these practices, so you can rest assured that your website’s reputation is in safe hands with me.

Can SEO help my local business get more visitors?

Absolutely yes! SEO is an excellent organic marketing technique for small and local buisnesses.

Neighbourhood-level and even street-level Google searches are increasing, so it really is time for local businesses to make the most of this free traffic that Google sends you!

What does [x] mean in Google Analytics?

Have you Googled it?

In all seriousness, Google Analytics is a huge learning curve for beginners. 1-2-1 support could really benefit you if you’re a total newbie. I run sessions in person or over Skype and hold regular workshops.

Prices start at £50 per hour for 1-2-1 tuition and coaching.

What's the timescale for an SEO Audit?

Turnaround time is approximately 1-2 weeks depending on the size and scale of your website and overall digital presence.

What SEO tools and reporting do you use?

I use a variety of free and paid-for website and SEO analytical tools.

These include (but not limited to)

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Search Console
  • SEMRush
  • Ahrefs
