SEO Advice & Consultancy

SEO is not a magic trick.

It’s about adding value to your industry and putting your customer at the centre of what you do.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO for short) is a term that’s often thrown around as if there’s some magic trick or special formula.

This is simply not true.

SEO is about answering questions, providing something of value that’s relevant to your industry and understanding your audience.

Yet, when you start looking for information on SEO, you’ll find lots of jargon about keywords and backlinks.

Whilst these do remain important elements of your overall search engine strategy, there’s very little advice on search intent, building overall authority and technical best practices.

I focus on search engines because they give long-term results when compared to other forms of digital marketing, such as paid advertising or social media.

If you have a blog, business or website and you want to improve its search engine performance, I can help!

I work with businesses and individuals who…

Need a consultant who really understands the technical and the marketing side of things
Want to avoid big agencies who overpromise and underdeliver
Are extremely keen to learn more about maintaining their website and promoting their content
Are not afraid to try new things and learn new digital skills
Are hands-on with your own website
Want to understand the process of online business growth, instead of trawling along every day
  • Local, National & Global BusinessesAlmost all businesses (including startups) are going to need some sort of online presence. People are searching for your product or service, you need to be easy to find in order to compete. I can work with you to remain competitive online and give valuable content to your audience.
  • Charities & Non-Profit OrganisationsMost charities and non-profit organisations need help to stay ahead in the world of ‘Digital by Default’. Cuts to funding and demands on services make it challenging for charities to keep afloat digitally. I can oversee the digital aspects of your organisation so you can focus on delivering excellent services.
  • Bloggers & IndividualsSo many people have side hustles alongside their regular jobs. This might be blogging, or even selling handmade items on Etsy, eBay or Amazon. I can help turn your hobby or side hustle into a profitable business!

Where are you based?

I mostly work from my home office in South Wales, or from co-working spaces across Caerphilly, Cardiff and Pontypridd. However, due to the nature of my work – I can work from anywhere! I’ve worked from Cairo, Chiang Mai, Lisbon and just about anywhere with WiFi!

Can you share the URLs of your passive income websites?

With the greatest respect, no. I can’t share the URLs, nor the keywords that I rely on to pay my bills and feed myself.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of competition in the affiliate marketing world. The general rule is that if you’ve struck gold with a keyword, it’s best practice to keep it to yourself.

However, I am launching a case study website to demonstrate to my readers how these sites get launched and how they grow.

Active, long-term clients are told the URLs of my successful sites to help them learn and replicate the strategies I have used.

Does SEO work for local businesses?

Absolutely yes! SEO is an excellent organic marketing technique for small and local businesses.
Neighbourhood-level and even street-level Google searches are increasing, so it really is time for local businesses to make the most of this free traffic that Google sends you!

What SEO tools do you use?

I use a variety of free and paid-for website and SEO analytical tools.

These may include (but not limited to):
Google Analytics
Google Search Console
SEMRush
Ahrefs
Screaming Frog
Moz
Page Speed Insights
Google Search Results Page
Keywords Everywhere
Google Keyword Planner
Keysearch
BuiltWith
Chrome Developer Tools

Many of these tools you can use yourself and some of these are even free. I’m completely transparent with my process and how I use these tools.

However, I’m able to give valuable insight in the results given by these tools, explain what it all means and which areas to focus on.

What fees do you charge?

Fees and estimates depend on the scale and the volume of the website’s content.

Ad hoc SEO support & consultancy is between £75 – £125 per hour depending on the size of your website.

SEO monthly packages for a website with under 500 pages start at £750.

20% UK VAT is applicable to all fees.

Please get in touch for a chat about your budget.

I need help with my website RIGHT NOW!

Stay calm and get in touch. Please don’t panic, there’s almost nothing in WordPress that can’t be fixed or restored!

If you don’t have a maintenance package, or your package doesn’t include support time, please do get in touch anyway as I may still be able to help without you.

The words that jumped out at me from Sarah’s website were “Let’s work together”. Our charity was looking for a supportive personal service from an individual, not the one-step-removed approach of many hosting services. The migration process was speedy, efficient and painless. Sarah has already spotted ways of making cost savings and improving the efficiency of our website. I feel more supported in maintaining and developing our website than I have for a long time.
